The hard part of CBD SEO is rarely finding a site that will take the link — it is finding one that will still be there, and still be indexed, in a year.
Sites that will take CBD work often take it quietly, publish the post where nobody reads it, and pull it the first time an advertiser or host complains. You find out at the next audit.
We own these sites and we keep them clean. The link type, the outbound link cap and the guarantee window are all on the listing.
The placements that cause trouble usually cause it for the same reason: the copy said the product treats, cures or prevents something. The rest of the page can be entirely reasonable and still be unpublishable because of one line about sleep or pain. We write around that, and when you supply the copy we read it with the same eye.
We will place a disclosed, monitored link on a site that already covers the space. We will not make health claims on your behalf, and we will not describe a paid placement as editorial.
Specifically, we will not publish:
If your brief asks for one of those we come back to you rather than publish and hope. That is usually a rewrite, not a refusal.
Jurisdiction is the other half of it. The same page can be unremarkable in one market and a regulatory problem in another — hemp-derived products, THC thresholds, novel food rules and advertising restrictions all differ by country, and sometimes within one. We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. Whether your product and your claims are compliant in the markets you target is yours to take advice on.
A placement on a site we control, with the link type stated up front. You see the domain rating, the organic traffic, the referring domain count and the spam score before you order, and you see the same numbers we do.
Placements are guest posts, niche edits into an existing page, or press releases. Each site carries its own minimum word count, maximum links per post, turnaround and guarantee window. Content can be written by us or supplied by you, against the same minimum. You can counter the listed price; the number of rounds is capped and quotes expire.
We will not tell you a paid link is editorial. Where a placement is paid we support rel="sponsored", and the link type is on every listing. You set the target URL and the anchor in the brief; anchor text is validated for length, URLs and spam patterns.
After publication we verify the live page: on the site's own domain, HTTP 200, not noindexed, canonical absent or self-referential, a matching link with your anchor text, and a rel no stronger than what was sold. We check again at one day and seven days, then monitor through the guarantee window — if a link comes down inside it, we restore it or place an equivalent on the same domain.
The common mistake is buying links faster than the brand can carry them. A young CBD site with a thin content base and a sudden run of exact-match commercial anchors looks like exactly what it is.
The second is treating the placement as the whole job. We control our side of it: the page, the anchor, the rel attribute, and what happens if the link comes down inside the guarantee window. Your own landing page sits outside that, and that is usually where trouble starts.
